I had some problems burning DVD-movies (my own movies). But it's good to know that I can upgrade the drive in the future.

Sweet, definitely good to know. It seems people can burn dual layer disks with a few DVDRs with hacked firmware. It will definitely be worth the risk of flashing in the near future

Just be aware that it might perhaps not be possible to go back to an official firmware after flashing something else. At least LiteON's flashing software has denied such actions before.
