Video_TS to DVD-R Problem
I'm trying to burn some video_ts files onto DVD-R using Nero and using this method. (Click Nero) All goes well, the DVD works fine on my PowerDVD, however when I try to play it on my Panasonic S35 DVD Player, it has the (possible) Macrovision effect. I'm not sure what Macrovision effect is, but I believe it is that. It's like when there are vertical columns distorting the image with flashes. (For those who have played Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast, it's the same affect as setting the wrong refresh rate for your NTSC TV)..
Help? Am I burning these incorrectly? Or maybe I have PAL files? I'm quite the newbie with this. P.S - DVDXCopies work on my Panasonic S35 DVD Player.

try setting ur DVD into PAL mode if you can and see if that happens… but my experience with wrong formats is that NTFS on a pal system is b&w… may not be what you are experiencing

NTFS is a wider/shorter format (704x465(?)), while PAL is 704x 525, so they will look wierd played one ach other, not to mention PAL is specified for mostly european use by region, and NTSC is US and japan.....make sure your using the proper discs (+R or -R) and that your burning them in nero as DVD Video and nto DVD Video-VR

VIDEO_TS folder
How'd you get the files into the VIDEO_TS folder? Are these files from a copy protected DVD? If they are you can use DVD Decrypter and DVD2ONE, or DVD Shrink.

I think "someone" needs to be a mod in the Video forum.
It would be great if someone did a review or at least some kind of index of all these freeware programs. |

The files came from a SuprNova
I don't know the exact origins of the file, but don't worry about it.
I've given up and took an alternative route. Thanks for the response.

Seems like a pretty broad scope for a review, a massive undertaking.
Since many of these utilities are suited for quite different things, how about taking one thing at a time? For example DVD Authoring, by itself. Or one of the others on their own: VCD/SVCD, encoding to AVI, etc. Would be much neater and easier to follow, than everything all together. And you wouldn't be mixing things that have little to do with each other, such as DivX and MPEG-1. Might make for a nice DH guide(s), if you like.
