Strange router issue
Well, I'm actually not sure if this is a router issue or something else, but my gaming rig just loses all connectivity to the router and the internet. I think it's when the machine goes into screen saver it just loses connectivity. I can't get to the router or any address beyond that. I have two machines running behind the router one with IP 192.168.0.100 and the other at 101. The 101 machine just drops, AIM goes away, MSN, can't surf and Bittorrent says webconnection inactive. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks.

have you tried swapping the cables/ports around. It might just be a faulty or failing port or cable.

that I haven't tried, I just got the router if that's the case it's RMa time. I'm wondering though I didn't have QoS packet scheduling installed b4 think that might cause it? this rig went idle a little bit ago and I don't think I lost connectivity, I'll see when I go to work and it can go idle for a while.

Ok, I was just browsing around and lost my connection again. So it has nothing to do with hibernation or screen saver I'm guessing. I switched the cable to a different port and was able to get my internet back on this rig. I wonder how long it's gonna stay up now. It only happens on this rig though, the other rig has had no connectivity issues at all.
Edit: Rebooting this machine gives me back a connection. This is really annoying, lost connection on this port as well. Edit2: Just got off the phone with d-link support and the rapidity of her reply made me think this is a known issue, "you're gonna have to take it back." Guess that answers that. Such a pain too, I've been trying to DL this bittorrent file FOREVER!

hrmmm....192.168.0.100 seems odd, perhaps try swapping the 0 to a 1 and make sure that under router settings your lease time is set to "Forever", otherwise I know what your problem is
