new digital camera

mhh my g/f is moaning about our camera (old but ok i think)

anyway can anyone recommend a camera between £200 and £300... digital of course.

major important thing is that it can do quick shoots, you press and it shoots... and the flash shouldnt recharge very quickly tooo.... dont ask my g/f

I would say either the canon powershot a75 or the powershot a80...both very very feature rich cameras, extremely high user ratings. have the ability to be simple, point and shoot, or go indepth with all kinds of manual settings.

Take a peek at Fuji as they make excellent cameras..... 3.2mp should be very much under 200.... If you want something that has quick shoot and pretty decent image quality.. Samsung have some very good cheap cameras

Check out how much a Nikon CoolPix 4300 goes for in your currency. If it's in your price range definitely go for it

Just one thing i highly suggest you look into for ANY digital Camera..... PAY attention to the zoom... don't buy anything that relies specifically on DIGITAL zoom.... the one samsung camera i got my sister has no optical... but it really doesn't matter... if you want to zoom in at all.... then look for the optical zoom feature....

My bro bought a Minolta G500 model, 5mp.. sweeet cam.
Im looking at the Olympus Stylus 410.

Here are some sites that do a nice breakdown.
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs.asp
http://www.imaging-resource.com/MFR1.HTM?view=Olympus <---- look for any cam. Just defaults to my selection.
