Directional antennae?
Do any of the usual wireless networking manufacturers do a directional aerial?
I'm looking to share 1gig broadband with a friend who lives about 140mtrs away and don't want to be broadcasting to the entire neighbourhood. I presume directional tx would allow for a faster connection at a longer distance. Anyone any ideas? |

buffalo do one. is that 1gig (100Mbps) or 1mbps connection. If it is a 1 gig then the wireless connection will be a bottleneck as it will only connect at 54Mbps (if its a 802.11g connection of course)

hehe, I thought 1gig was a bit large, I was going to have to get out my jelousy cannon and blast you with it
But yeah the buffalo should be fine. I just recently started using one of their routers and I'm really pleased with it, excelent stuff imo. |

diy are usually called cantennas cause you use a metal can to parabolically focus the signals.
