I don't know what to do other then throw out this computer and get a new one (I wish I had the $$) Well.... For a good 2-3 months Call Of Duty has been running like crap on my computer. Let me give you some background. I got it back in November along with my R9800NP 128MB (which is on sale for $155 - PM ME). Up until Feb. I played CoD non-stop and I got tired of it, and got back to it like in April or so... since then it didn't run well as it used to be. Here is what I've tried to do: 1. Change drivers.... Went from 3.7 to 4.6 in both Catalyst and Omegas.... 2. Format.. Intalled both WinXP and Win2k pro. 3. Screw around with my BIOS. Heck it used to run SMOOTH with NO slow downs at AAx6 AFx16, now I run it at AAx4 AFx8 and I get slow downs and stutter. That's after a clean optimized install of windows 2k pro. Before then I used WinXP and the game was soooo stuttery it was unplayable. It was like that with Win2k as well... No I don't know what to do. I put my vid card for sale hoping to sell it and pay an extra $40-$50 and get an R9800 Pro which might solve my problems but I doubt it, this NP used to play this game incredibly well, and still plays all of my other game extremely well.... its only Call Of Duty So that brings me to believe that the vid card is fine... Something else is wrong, maybe a setting in the BIOS, or my computer overheating, I don't know anymore!!! Right now I am running at 2200Mhz (3200+) speeds becuase of the summer heat, but I remember CoD running buttery smooth at stock 2500+ speeds and stock R9800NP speeds (325/290). ANY help would be appreciated!

check for a background program that is eating up your system's resources. If not that, check for a virus (sasser or any other virus). Defragment your h-drive.....umm.....reinstall the game.

I would more than likely say its a background service. I had similar issues recently where my wireless network client software was causing games to stutter like hell. Soon as I closed it all was fine.
