Adding stick of DDR400 512mb
Ok here is the deal. I currently have one stick of Corsair DDR400 512mb CL3 value ram on my intel D875BZLK mobo. I just purchased a Kingston DDR400 CL3 1gig (512x2) kit, serial "KVR400X64C3AK2/1G ". I know the CL 3 is not so good but we really dont have much money and got the memory for mega cheap. I am going to split the kit with my friend because he has the same exact pc configuration as mine. We want to both have 1gig of ram (512x2). My question is, can we both use one stick of the corsair and one of the kingston? Or must the kingston sticks be used together to work properly, same question with the corsair. Will we get the same performance with the 1 corsair 1 kingston config as using kingston with the kingston, corsair with corsair. How do i know if they are working at their full potential. And what would you say is the better ram? The corsair sticks or the kingston? Thanks, and sorry for the long question.

One more thing, i dont know much about dual channel. But i know my mobo supports it. How do i enable dual channel, do i have to place the 2 sticks of 512 in certain slots on my board? i would assume that i would just place them in slots 1 and 2. Is there a way to make sure the ram is running in dual channel mode? Thanks for the help.

when you boot up, it should show on your POST screen "Dual-CHannel Mode Enabled" or somethign to that effect, and the 2 RAM sticks should work fine together, but just know it will run as fast as the slowest of the 2
