Default Post HELP.... Bypassing 150Mhz holdback!
Got a computer that's 100mhz (90mhz actually but it's overclocked)

Intel Pentium.... 72mb of ram and filled with dirt.... well got it cleaned up now.... just found out as well that windows ME automatically say SCREW YOU if you not running at 150mhz or more (when you install it.... it states that it requires 150mhz or more)

Now, seeing as the hardrive is wiped.... i'm really pissed that i can't install WINDOWS ME..... and i don't have any other windows disks... I was wondering if anyone might know were i can find a way to force the sucker to pull through

PLEASE...HELP...

BTW i've installed windows 98se on a pentium 75mhz system with no problems and WAY WAY LESS ram (16mb)
But i gave my windows 98 se cd away last year.... (and now i learned to regret it)

also here's the following options availalbe via the setup -?

[batch] -Batch file with Setup options set.
/C -Do not load smartdrive disk cache
/ie -Skip the startup Disk screen
/im -Skip the check for low conventional Memory
/is -Do Not run Scandisk
/iv -Do not show billboards
/T:tempdir -Specify a directory were file will be copied to for installion of windows me.

Now, here's the deal... i need a command that Skips the Check for 150Mhz or higher. This could probably be applied in a batch file...(but i doubt it) or a invisable command... BUT WHAT.... erg... i wish it'd just work...

Windows Me has a built-in CPU checking function that prevents you from installing it on computers with a CPU slower than 150 MHz. If you're a patient type, you can bypass this check at setup time. Type setup /nm

Works... currently 26 minutes from browsing the windows ME destop on this little beast...

Wasn't this the fastest thread.... i asked the question and answered it....
