RAM Question
Is it safe to combine two different RAM types that have different timings? I have a Kingston 1x512mb DDR400 stick in here now, but I'm going to get my Corsair 2x256mb XMS DDR400 RAM refunded soon, so would it be safe?
- The timings for the Corsair sticks are lower - Would I have have to make the timings higher for the Corsair to sync with the Kingston?

As far as i know there is no way to set the timings for individaul sticks of ram....you have to set the timings for them all....so you would have to run the timings at what the sticks can handle....you can try to push the kingston stick to run at lower timings though...

yeah... it would be safe... but you would have to make sure that the ram was running at the lower of the two timings (and by lower I mean a higher number)

Well I really don't want to risk putting the timings lower... Although I can try and if things mess up I can always change it...

have a go by all means.... if you get a blue screen of death - revert back to the kingston timings.... that's the best way to do it
