DVD drive lens cleaner

Recently, I am getting some errors and jittery action reading CDs and DVDs with my 2 year old Pioneer slot loading DVD ROM drive.
Has anyone used one of those DVD/CD drive lens cleaners? Should I try it or am I better off to just buy a new drive(only around 30 bucks)?

What do you think? I wonder how effective the lens cleaner is.

Thanks for any comment.

I've never had much luck with them, they don't seem to do anything at all for me.

If you end up getting a new drive, take a look at the Lite-On LDT-166S (now JLMS XJ-HD-166S). They're great drives, and pretty cheap.

I'm not sure optical disc drive lenses can be cleaned. I don't think the laser is positioned directly under the disc, I believe it's reflected by mirrors.
