Networking cable
hello, I was looking for a 50ft networking cable at my local pc store. They wanted way too much for it. So i decided to check newegg.com, and I found 50ft cat. 5e Patch Cable, 350mhz, can be used as cat. 5.
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...117-602&depa=0 so, whats the difference between patch cable, and normal cat 5 networking cable? if you see the price, which is 10 bucks shipping included, thats a lot better than my loca pc store. Will this patch cable deal work as a normal networking cable running from a router tomy pc? Im using normal cat 5 cables for my other pc's, so i know cat. 5 will work. But will the patch cable work? Anyone know what patch cable is? thanks guys!

They are the same thing.. just different names ... the only thing you need to worry about is if one says Cross over Cable... that you don't need for what you are doing.

some new routers and whatnot now support cross over cable.... so now... if you've got the latest and greatest... don't really have to worry about it.... still... better be safe than sorry
