asus p2b mobo not reading WD 40gig

hey, my asus p2b mobo will not read the WD 40gig harddrive. My other computers read the harddrive, and the asus reads an old old harddrive. I tried multiple ide cables, and i tried master, slave, and cable select. It freezes up in when it searches for it when the computer first starts up. Is there a conflict between the harddrive and mobo? any suggestions?

perhaps you can try updating your mobo bios, it should solve the problem.
