Just got a massive upgrade!

Well for those of you who haven't noticed, i've been gone for a few days. As it turns out my old Epox board suddenly just died, and i was going to simply just replace it w/an Abit NF7-S board. However, i decided to go all out instead.

I got me an Abit Max II MoBo, p4 3.2 Prescott, 6800GT, and 1 Corsair XMS 3200 stick of ram (to make 1Gb of ram cuz i already had 1x512 XMS 3200). Well, my new set up is screaming fast compared to my old xp2400 system. I got a huge upgrade......it was like going from a v6 mustang to a Camaro SS. I spent a crap load of cash, but it was very well worth it

!

So yea....the past few days i've been gone. I was trying to figure out what was going out w/my xp2400 system, and then I've been putting my new system together. Well, it only took yesterday to put together (7-28-04), but all day today my DSL was down up until like 20min. ago.

socket 939 A64 has 1Mb of L2 cache......just as expensive as p4.....sometimes a bit more expensive than a p4

i was talking to my friend at work who has an x800 xt pe, and he was putting down my card, and i was like......well, at least i have full support of ps 3.0......that shut him up real quick like :-p

I never put your card down you nub, I congraluated you on finally having a system worth saying "hey guys, this is my system" about. The GT is a good card, no problems or anything. The Ultra sucks though. (I Know, I've owned one). Too many problems compared to the GT or my current XT-PE. Jacob ugpraded his 6800Ultra's BIOS, and now its running much better.

But yeah, congrats on the ugprades nub, but my computer still owns yours :P

why didnt you get a A64? its faster then a pentium 4. (OK if anyone says its not in games pealse do some research)

You need a decently clocked A64 to be worth getting over a 3.2E P4... and of course, a decently clocked A64 isn't dirt cheap. Not only that, A64's are great for those who plan on doing nothing but gaming. Sure they're faster than P4's in games, but not in every-day use, real-world type of thigs.

hehehe......i bet if i got DDR 500, better cooling and the proper settings, i could boot into windows stable at 4Ghz no problem......our systems are very comparable now

I gotta get a better case now though.......ed is selling me his thermaltake w/enermax for like $60 bux. don't know if you heard him say that.

How are our systems comparable now? You buy a better processor than me, and now our systems are comparable? TEEHEE, funny guy. You're forgetting the fact that I've been on this 3.0 for over 6 months now, so I'm itching for a CPU upgrade.

"better cooling"? You bought a scottie yo, you gonna drop a couple hundred bucks for a prommie? I don't even think cooling is your problem, I'm pretty sure your CPU hit a wall.
