A KT266A chipset board? Did you get it for free since it's about all those boards WOULD go for if they were still readily available, and a PC Chip board to top it all off. I hope you didn't get a recommendation from someone here for that.
If it's a budget issue, then it's understandable.

I had go with KT266A because of money reasons, I couldn't afford the motherboard and ram of anything higher. It was just too much.

yeah hey guys, uhhhh lets avoid bashing peoples systems.
Its a solid system that'll do him well for quite awhile. The only thing is that the graphics card will need to be upgraded in like a year because by then it wont be able to run games very well. As for now, no he wont have ultra quality on FarCry, but it'll run at decent framerates.

Yea, I'll have it running good. Probably in a few weeks or so, I'm going to get another 512MB PC2100. I need atleast 1 GB of RAM. Video card will be next my next major upgrade. Hopefully the prices will go down alot by the time I need it.
I know PC Chips is a cheap motherboard, but I never heard any complaints about it. I did have a epox motherboard before, they are cheap too. But, it did very well with all my games, so I am willing to give this a shot. I'm not much on overclocking the CPU or anything, so I doubt I will have a problem.

Yeah and actually have you looked at Shuttle boards? Dirt cheap and some of the best OCing tools I've seen in a long time...plus most nforce2 boards of theirs come with soundstorm

Vid card
May I suggest one thing, if you don't already own that 9700 Pro. . .get an 9800. Per Pricewatch.com, they are less than $20 more than the 9700. That is worth it.
