PC keeps turning on by itself

Hey everyone. Its my first time on this site and I was wondering If I could get some help. My uncle has this PC and every time he powers it off, within an hour or two later It'll turn itself back on. I disabled wake on lan and it still does it....PLZ help......

Welcome to DH. Now this is a first, people often have issues with PCs turning off by themselves, but turning on?

There could be a problem with is power switch on his case.. or a problem with his PSU. How old is this PC?

I thought the same thing so I switched the power swith from power to the reset switch and it still does the same. The PS is 400 watts. maybe I'll try another one I have here.......thanks
If any other sugg. PLZ help

It's a motherboard issue.

Man that'll suck. It is an ECS motherboard which is a very crappy board but it came free with my processor.
But its been running for about 3 months without any problems.

Friend of mine actually had this happen - it was the PSU in his case...

Mainboard shorting to the case perhaps? If it's shorting the path/pin for the power switch...That, or double check the WAKE-ON settings and see if you have wake-on-ring enabled by chance..Maybe the phone's waking it up. Another thought - if the keyboard has a power key try unplugging the keyboard..heh. Interesting problem though.

i had the same problem when i first connected ma PC to the Uni lan, 4 years ago. I was going to sleep turning the PC off (bought the PC in uk, didnt know about download.com, etc ... yet, in greece i didnt have one so i didn't need to keep it on through the night) and a after a few minutes it would start back on. after having some1 disabling that wake up lan thingy it turned out that if i had a book on the keyboard it would spring to life. After a few messings around inthe bios i found that some geezer that built it for me had enabled the keyboard shortcut (ctrl+F1). I was going crazy cause some times the PC was fine while others it was starting up. Not to mention i had 3 Firewalls cause i was afraid i was being hacked.

Lol those were the times. I didnt even know what a FORMAT was back then.
