reason i'm asking... and sorry.. link not available yet....
is.... I bought a yamaha CD-RW 44x24x44x F1 with DiscT2oo and mount rainer support.. not to mention it also came with a very excellent FULL Nero 5.5 Burning rom. and a few other bells and whistles i need Now i bought this from futureshop... paid a pretty penny for it ...however, for some reason, it just screwed up.. think it's due to my power supply as lately, everythings been going downhill... anyways... i pack it up... take it back to futureshop and lo and behold.. they don't have a value listing on this thing.. it's only a year and 6 months old or so.... (Full PSP on it) Anyways.. they want to hand me a (i guess in US bucks.. it'd be 30-40 dollar) LG or benq burner ... sure... 52x16x52x speeds... but NOTHING for software..... piles of shit basically... (as you can probably tell.. not really in the greatest of moods about this ) I told em to stuff it and i'd get back to them.... i'm currently reading up on the contract i have with futureshop... now according to what i see here... they have to warrant both the hardware AND the software i end up buying... as it's a full package... IF my hardware fails.. the software is also considered failing... and BOTH should be replaced as either the same or if the same product is not available... they MUST without extra charge... upgrade me to a new one... However, they currently are looking at simple hardware specs.... at the time i bought this burner.... i paid more then 100-150 more for the yamaha then any of the LG's that were available.... i REALLY need to know which has the full version of nero included... if none do... some form of shit is about to hit the fan.... and futureshop is going to have a problem.... I, am probably one of there largest costumers.... seeing as every possible part i get... i get from them.... be it whatever it may be... They really don't want to lose me.... .and it's apparent because every time i walk in.... i've got employees hanging off my shoulders sometimes

I did a little looking and came up with this,
http://store.compbus.us/compbus/ao52cdbuw.html It looks like it comes with a full version of Nero 6.0. Check it out and see for yourself. There a link down towards the bottom of the page labeled Nero that will describe the software. Hope this helps. drwho

I wouldn't bank on it being a "full" 6.0, or even a "full" 5.5.
If you had an OLD Nero OEM (V5.0) with PRINTED KEYSLIP, that seems to upgrade to 5.5 and work with OEM restrictions (one drive, no audio crossfade) on ANY drive. If you have one of those, hang on to it, as it's nearly as good as a full retail. The BUNDLE version typically from 5.5, had no printed key, and is locked to that drive, or at least that drive maker - it still had OEM capability. From 5.5.8.0, the option of "Express" was available, and some makers switched to this cheaper option (a real pain if you're used to the other way), while others supplied the complete OEM... it's decided by the embedded key, so although you can upgrade, it stays as Express. Not sure if even the V6 OEM Suite 3 includes the FULL Nero Burning Rom, according to one list, it doesn't. So with 5.5, you MIGHT be getting a "full OEM", if you're lucky, but with a drive that comes with V6, looks l;ike it'll only ever be express - and the most that gives you, is a piddling discount on a full upgrade - the last resort, of course, is to visit the appropriate low places.... |
