PSU Question
I am in the planning stages of building a new computer for myself, and I have some concerns about the PSU I plan on using with this computer. The PSU I currently am using is the same one I plan on using with my new rig. The PSU is a Vantec "Stealth" 520W. Will this PSU be enough to handle all power needs on my new rig. Below is the probable pieces for my new computer.
OS - XP Pro SP1 Case - Kingwin KT 436B-WM PSU - Vantec "Stealth" 520W Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Heatsink - Thermalright XP-120 120mm fan MB - Epox EP-9NDA3+ Nforce3 Ultra (Socket 939) Ram - Twinmos Twister PC3700 (2x512mb) Video Card - Gigabyte X800 XT PE (256 MB) HDD- 2 Seagate SATA Barracuda 120 GB 7200.7 rpm OD - Liteon SOHN-1213S 12x DVD/RW Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. drwho

dude ur PSU is really over the top... 520watts is more than enough! I got a 480watt PSU and have 5 fans running in my PC plus a modded 9800 pro and all and I'm fine... So you should have NO problems...
And your PC is great... But for more or less the same price, you could maybe get a FX53 instead of the 3800+... And some more ram wouldn't ever hurt but that's just me... I love ram

Im kinda anxious to get this thing put together myself, but I will have to wait for awhile. I'm gonna be working plenty of overtime in the next couple of months, and I gotta do something with the extra cash, I can't let my wife spend all of it. As for you guys wanting this system, after I get it built, your more than welcome to come over and borrow it. I was thinking just this morning about mabye upping the anty and going for the FX 53, I might just do that. Thanks for the replys, troops. drwho ![]() ______________________________________ It's about time, it's about space.
