yea...you need to reinstall windows
this happend to me too...it says that when you dont use the correct HAL during xp install. if you hit f4 ( i think...) it gives you the option of which HAL to use, and you should always choose "ACPI PC"

it stands for Hardware Abstraction Layer (im pretty sure that's what it is)...basically, it's how windows knows exactly what's on your board etc.
Before you go reinstall though..let's be sure. Go to your Device Manager, and expand the plus sign next to "System". What does it say there? |

ok basically when go into hardware in systems, device manager- gameport for creative there is an exclamation mark. and it reads
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. so i got no free resources. input output irqs whatever- its very annoying, because playing with keyboard for NFSU sucks bad..wow - please help me out- ill install windows after feedback thanks again!! no no. at the very top, the first collapsable icon should say "System". What does it say when you expand that? does it say "Standard Uniprocessor PC" (or something like that, or "ACPI PC"?
