Need Watercooling advice
I have finally decided to go with water cooling for my computer, that Vantec Tornado is getting on my last nerve. I have tried the "Entry Level" Kingwin kit only to get temps higher then what my HSF give me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kit or components to get? I'm trying to keep everything under $300.

I'd say go for the Corsair Hydrocool or the Zalman Resorator...
the Corsair is CPU only and the Zalman is CPU + GPU... both are beneath $300... both are good coolers... the Zalman is silent though.... a good change from your vantec! |

I was looking into both of them, My problem is with my mobo I dont have the mounting holes, Unless Zalman changed the design and included a clip I wont be able to try that one. I will look into the corsair though. Thanks

all semi-decent watercooling setups need the mounting holes... if you want watercooling better than the kingwin/your hsf then you currently have.
The corsair etc all need mounting holes...sorry bro... |

if you're gonna stick with AMD Athlon XP... then I highly recommend the abit nf7-s - great overclocking board and has mounting holes... if that's a barton then you should reach 2.4GHz+ no problem... even with the slk800

Planning on sticking it out with the XP's, atleast till the 939's come down in price a little bit. It is a 3200 Barton with the 400Mhz FSB (just noticed I didnt fully update my sig). Havent tried overclocking it yet. I was looking into the Abit NF7 and the DFI Lanparty board.

the dfi is a good overclocker too... I just can't remember if it has mounting holes or not.

Apple Fanboy?

the DFi lanpart boards have mounting holes, but you need to be extremely careful as you may bridge components close to them… there was an investigation about these boards a while ago somewhere on the net

interesting, I will have to look into the DFI a little more. How do you guys feel about the Asetek Waterchill KT03-L20 water cooling kit #2220?
