Weird...
Okay, I'm in the process of changing my mobo and all cuz dell sucks but I've got a problem... I boot up the pc, everythin fine and all but once i reach the desktop in windows XP, a message saying driver file for the 9800pro called AGP440 or sumthing can't be found... I then restart and now, on Windows XP, my desktop is blank (screen is in standby...) but in Safe Mode, I get my screen back.... Help?

I got no clue what is VIA but I have never installed a chipset thingy apart from the catdrivers... It's a 9800pro stock speeds with a R350 board.... U think my card could be damaged cuz it's gone through hell.... (my bro dropped a game controller.. well threw it against my loved 9800 Pro
)

you do need chipset drivers installed.
the drivers control agp (needed for dx9.0c),cpu,memory hdd controllers and more.also better to install chipset drivers and reboot before installing the cats. via are chipset makers.look in the manual or on the box either of these should tell you what chipset the board has. via,intell,sis,nforce 2 or 3 post back once you know. |
