Digital Camera + USB = No detection

As before my camera was detected as another drive. 1 week later and a fresh install it dont work. Is there a setting i need to set or something to make it show as a drive again?

turned it on, tried all my usb ports no DINGA LING noise from XP when i turn it on like before detecting the new drive

have you installed any drivers for the device?

It does not need drivers as it used to be detected as a USB drive. now it dont show it as a drive. It worked on every other computer but this 1 now

okay just tried it in another BOX and it worked what in the heck, it just doesnt detect it is this a windows problem?

Sounds like it could be a windows problem, I'm having a similar problem with a usb memory key, it is recognized and shows up as a drive, but when I try to access it windows locks up. I've tried it on another system and it works fine, guess its time for a reinstall.

either you have the PnP service disabled, or your usb ports have the wrong addresses and such assigned to them.

Chubby: does it happen no matter which slot you plug it into? and is this the only device that exibits problems with your comp/that port?

check to see if the Shell Hardware Detection service is running
(Run >> services.msc)

Seems to be, at first I had no problems on the front mounted ports with any device, but then the memstick gave me a problem, but the other stuff I was plugging in didn't give any issues (speedpad n52, remote wonder receiver, digital camera), I'm planning on formatting my system soon anyway so then I'll test and see maybe I'll have to run the extension cable from the rear ports.
