865 chipset temps

i just installed a swiftech chipset cooler on my p4p800. being the dork that i am i forgot to take a baseline temp before switching .
so i am hoping some of you guys with p4p800 boards or even any board based on ich5 & stock cooling can give me some temps for idle/load.
overclock temps would be a really big help too as i am running a 250 bus at1:1.
thx.

also need this info becuase 2 more sticks of ocz 4000 are arriving next week. which means i will be populating all 4 slots. considering the overclock - 25%- i am a liitle worried about chipset stability. though this has been partially addresed in another thread.
anyway, if i have stock temps available it will help me solve problems if they do occur.
also want to know if/how much difference this cooler is making & if i got it installed right.

As far as I know, it does make a difference. I've actually put a small fan on the NorthBridge and it does cool it.

As for stability, since you're overclocking with 4 sticks, stability will be harder to maintain if all 4 sticks cannot operate at the exact same frequencies, but that shouldn't be a problem with PC4000. A lot of "hardcore" overclockers tend to OC with 512 MB of RAM since it's easier to maintain high overclocks.

all 4 sticks will be exactly the same - at least as far as the manafacturer makes them.
i am just tring to get stock temps for trouble shooting & to make sure i mounted the heatsink/fan assembly properly.

If the Heatsink gets hot, you're in business. So just run a game for awhile and touch the heatsink. You're using some sort of thermal compound right?

You don't want the Motherboard temperature reaching 40+ degrees C. I've noticed instability at that temperature. Also take note that the MoBo temperature diode isn't necessarily the chipset's temperature. I don't know where it is, but once ASUSProbe says 40C, things start to go wrong. Which is why I got a NB fan and a side intake

it would be nice to know were the mb temp probe is. must be one of those "if we tell you we will have to kill you" type of things.
my mb temp reaches 41-42 under prolonged stress. no problems. i am reaaly hoping i do not have to turn down my overclock with the addition of 2 more sticks of mem.

41-42? What's your ambient room temperature and how many case fans do you have?

my god man....I run the asus probe, never get the cpu above 118 F even after I bumped the 2.8 up to 3.3, and that is with stock cooling and a heat stove I made from a stock auto intake heater. I run 1.5 gig of ram, and never messed with the AGP bus. no crasy ass liquid cooling or any other crap. you can bet the mobo has a hardware monitor man. check and see. but no instablity probs here and mine defintely looks like a grocery getter mod.

thx jeff. cpu temp is no concern whatsoever, have swiftech on top with evercool 80mm fan.
the main thing i am tring to do is get a baseline for the ich5 chipset of 865 mb. i purchased & installed a swiftech mcx 159 on the chipset. i did not take any preinstall temps so iam trying to get some stock/oc temps of the chipset from forum members that have similar rigs.
basically i want to know if i have it installed right, what i am getting for the $$ i spent, & as a trouble shooting reference if i have any problems when i add 2 more sticks of mem.
anyway, always good to hear from you!
