dulittle is on a distinguished road

Any good suggestion on Case Fans?

Weeding through a sea of case fans, just wondering what everyone else is using. What is a typical good cfm rating, 25 and below seems a little weak, 32 and above seems to be a good average for 80mm. Thnx for your time.

Depends on your noise tolerance as well!

25cfm and below will be low speed, and quiet - generally, the more cfm you want out of any given fan size, the noisier it will be.

Also, balance:
If you have two rear fan positions, and only one front intake, I'd fill both rear positions with low cfm fans, and put a mid-range one in the front.

Avoid the really high cfm and high rpm (like the Delta "screamer"), unless you want an overclocker's paradise that can be heard before it's seen!

PS. It's also worth cutting away highly obstructive perforated grilles, and using a wire finger guard instead - less obstruction = more airflow with less noise.

I like the Vantec Stealth fans. The 80mm version flows about 27cfm and is very quiet at 21dba
