ecc ram ?? what do i do

when talking about ecc ram, what does it mean. what do you need to have or not have ecc ram some help would be appreciated thx :O

In short, ECC is ram with error correction.
BTW, this doesn't really belong to audio section, but OK

Check the manual for the motherboard to see if it requires ECC memory. In general, home systems almost never require and oftenly cannot even run with ECC memory. Server systems oftenly require ECC memory.

I don't see the need for it. Only servers should need it...
