Custom startup Bart's PE CD-ROM.

One whole day spent on my second Bart's PE building attempt,
using Bart's PE-Builder v3 ( http://www.nu2.nu/ ),
XPE v1.0.1 ( http://oss.netfarm.it/winpe/ ) plugin for the PE-Builder, and Win XP SP2 as sorce.
I removed most of plugins that included in the Bart PE Builder, and since i did not use the Bart's Nu2Menu and most of my plugins are commercial softwares I had to recreate many of the plugins's INF files myself, Networks and File sharing are both working very well, many of the PnP devices are detected, but I have not tried all the ports yet.

the XPE is still need some works, I think.
and since it uses the Explorer.exe as shell the image file is quite big when comparing with the others shell like Nu2Menu & GeoShell. (about 2 times bigger, when using same amount of plugins/programs, but it looks more like Windows )

Here're some infomations for anyone interested in building your own, a custom startup Bart's PE CD-ROM.

D/L an ISO file and burn it to CD (Ready-to-Use)
both CD images builds using Nu2Menu + GeoShell and not using XPE plugins.

- Windows Ultimate Boot CD ( http://www.windowsubcd.com/index.htm )
The WinUBCD is a collection of freeware Windows utilities. The CD includes many different types of utilities so you will be prepared when disaster strikes. The WinUBCD uses Bart's PE which allows you to create a custom CD that will boot into a Windows environment with network support. Perfect for recovering deleted files on your harddrive without accidentally overwriting them or scanning a virus infected system. This project currently has 50+ utilities included in the download.

- miniPE and miniPE2 -XT ( http://home.earthlink.net/~1.4142135...rentminiPE.htm )
miniPE is a suite of apps that fit on 210MB "pocket" or "mini" CDs (8cm). A minimum of 128MB is required.
Clicking on an app name will often take you to its website
Current ISO for "mini" ~208MB and ~240MB for "XT"

Here is a BartPE CD runs on CD only (no HDD install) on an very old PIII 450 with 256MB of RAM, with an empty formatted HDD, a CD-ROM drive and a NIC card on the system..

I set 60MB RamDrive for the BartPE system, this RamDrive is use for running some program and for the Firefox profile/bookmarks, any program that requires writing something to the local drive will use the RamDrive space, this including the XP's documents and temp folders. the system only can read from the CD but will/can not write anything to it.

and here are all plugins as of now..

when i have more time i will work on a new PC-Cillin 2005 or maybe Avent! or NOD32 antivirus (if possible that the AV supports WinPE) and remove all the free AV plugins except the the McAfee stringer., i try not to put so many same functions utility as i want to save space, and i don't think i need to use a DVD disk, it's now at around 650MB., i will try to keep it at one CD, and make a seperate one for the others multiboot CD, making it as easy as possible to update the BartPE CD's ISO file.
