Can you tell which Hd is better Ultra DMA/133 or ultra ATA/100?

m going to go to fry's on Sat they have a sale on some HD on is Seagate 120 Ultra ATA/100 $94..00 with a mail in rebate of $50. so = $44.99
The other HD is Maxtor or Western 250GB Ultra DMA/133
For 119.99 in store no rebates
both HD are 7200rpm and have 8mb buffer the seagate has 8.5 seek time dont know about the 250 one which HD is a better drive Also the wife gave the go ahead for the LCD
These are the 2 I have my eye which do you think would be better?Dell Ultra sharp 2001fp 20.1

System Specs

Not a lot in it, at least on the 100/133 issue - if you have ATA133 support, then it may have the edge if you had to pair 2 drives on the same cable, both 133. It tends to be a company thing - some do ATA100, some do ATA133 - and both specifications are more than enough for a single drive on a cable - the 133's (controllers and drives) can normally work at 100 as well.

If you can get TWO of the 120's at $44.99 a piece, I'd throw a Raid card into the mix, for 240Gb of storage that would be faster than the single 250Gb

IDK about the HDD, but get the dell monitor. im thinking of getting one myself soon

it really doesn't matter if it's 100 or 133. no hdd is capable of speeds near 100MB/s. Look at the other features. higher density platters tend to be faster since more data passes over the head per rotation.
