Wink 15000 rpm hard drive?

Hi,I am thinking of getting a new hard drive a fujitsu[think thats the name] and its a 36gig.
My question is if anyone knows anything about them,I dont do any large file transfers, I manly going to use it for gaming and surfing the net.I know that for the same price around 210.00 I could get a 76 raptor.10000 rpm's of course. Well thank you for any help....

from what i understand, its a fast drive but there are problems with heat so they need to be cooled. That can be alittle tricky at times.

i doubt you'd notice the difference between the two...

but if you feel the need to go faster, get two 74gb raptors in raid0.

raid0 appearently doesnt improve real world performance.

I havent tried it so I wouldnt know, but people here claim as such.

are you sure you can run the fujitsu drive? sounds like a scsi drive if it's 15k rpm. there are other 15k rpm scsi drives, but i haven't heard of any sata or pata drives at 15k.

I have Raptor's in a RAID 0.You really need to keep them cool also!If they get hot they will FRY.I have a 120mm fan blowing on mine.

if money is an issue, i'd say get two 36Gb raptors and put them in RAID 0. It'll end up being about the same price as just one 74Gb raptor, but faster than one 74Gb raptor.

again I say: Most people on this site have discovered that RAID-0 gives absolutely no performance increase.

striping raptors will give performance increases with large files, and gains are also seen in areas such as with the photoshop scratch disc. ive been running tests lately on the Maxtor 16 meg cache Sata drives and they boot up slightly faster than a raptor (the extra cache helps with small files on boot up).

i'm not too much of a fan of Maxtor, but those 16Mb buffer drives they came out with sure make me drool

the 15000 rpm drives(im assumign you eman the seagate cheetah drives) and fromw hat i've read, they are no faster then the 10,000 rom drives simpyl b/c at that speed it can't read quite fast enough, and often has to take 2 cycles to read something...so ti all averges otu tot he same speed as a 10k RMP drive..which si much cheeper(this was a fairly odl article..it might have imporved though_)..also..i think they require SCSI...whcih is another expense
