performance mode wont enable?

im running this:

asus p4p800
p4 2.4c @ 250fsb/3.0ghz

the problem is, to set the ratio between fsb/dram, on this board you set the dram frequency down. in my case, i put it on ddr320 so when i raise the fsb to 250mhz it makes the memory an even ddr400.

but, when i do it this way, performance or "turbo" mode wont enable, so my timings are stuck lower than they can be. (right now they're 2-4-4-8, and they run stable @ 2-3-2-5 when turbo is on).

turbo/performance is enabled in the bios, but cpu-z says it is disabled.

is there a way around this?

I don't know of a fix, but I was having the exact same problems. In fact, I couldn't even get it to POST when I was running a 3/2 divider at 250fsb, while I could with a 1:1 ratio at the same speed. This might be something to write Asus about, and maybe they can address it with a bios fix.

is that what you mean by performance mode?

also...sounds liek you have it set on 'BySPD' instead of 'Manual' in your BIOS....look for that and you should be golden

yes, that's what i mean. it's listed as performance in cpu-z and turbo in the bios

ill look for that next time i boot up (seeding a bunch of stuff right now hehe), thanks
