Following is a synopsis on how to save your crashed or bad sectored hard disk.
-Put the hdd in an electrosatic bag -Then, put it in another plastic bag with some drying agent inside, then another plastic bag with drying agent inside, then like four more plastic bags(this is done to prevent ice crystals forming inside hdd) -Pop it in the freezer for two weeks; make sure it is suspended in racks. If you put it in bare, its likely it'll get frozen into the freezer (then you'd have to use a crow bar to pull it out-this would not be good) -Yank it out, thaw it, then ensure there's no moisture on the connectors. Connect it in PC and use, all bad sectors will be gone, if it was crashed it will come back to life but all data that was on it will be gone, but hdd will function normally. >>>This technique saved my old 2gig fuc*ed hard disk "Big-tYt" , which I had previously thrown into the corner & gave up on. I will continue to do extensive research for the good and the benefit of my fellow man. BTW, this is the mainstream method used in India for recovering dead hard disks, tried and tested personally.
