connecting via modem

Ok is there a program that i can obtain or a way to set a connection up in windows to connect or share files to another persons PC that is running the program? Or sets the connection up too? Basiclly i want filesharing capablites like msn messengar has but with the messengar

Quickest thing I can think of is to install a Linux server, configure it's modem for dial-in, configure DHCP and FTP services on it and hey presto - you can share files.

go to download.com and get an ftp server and then just tell your buddy your ip address at the time you are online and then he can connect via ftp client. he can do the same for you.
