PC-to-PC connection using Wi-Fi possible?

Now, I know you can network 2 PC's directly to one another's network interfaces if you use Ethernet and a cross-over cable.
I was wondering if the same thing is possible with 2 PC's that have Wi-Fi adapters, if there might be some setting or software configuration to allow this. Or do they always need an access point (or whatever) to connect the PC's to each other?

You should be able to go into each pcs network config. and set them both up for Ad-Hoc. I am not sure how to do it with your but go to the manufacturer's website and do a search for Ad-Hoc.
