help getting rid of adware/virus/worm

well im not exactly sure what it is because i cant find any info on what it is.
the program in question is called *rasnut, it appeard on my system after i got rid of some other pop up crap that was called wavedos.exe. after i got rid of that vgamsvc appeard, once i got rid of vgamsvc then rasnut appeard and i cant get rid of it now.
the actual program is currently in windows/driver cache, and theres another part of it called rasnut.exe 27708b6f.pf sitting in windows/prefetch. i can get rid of the rasnut.exe 277 no problem but it keeps comeing back.

so far ive ran spybot, adaware, and spy hunter on it and cant get rid of it. ive also tried to manualy delete it but it says access denied.

im out of ideas here and preping for a format, not something i want to do. if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated.

im running windows xp sp1

i probably should mention its killing my system performance, and internet speed on this comp. my other comps internet speed is still good.

sorry....hope you got it all fixed...the best thing to do in cases like that is boot to safemode and unplug the internet and try from there. clear the prefetch, run services.msc, msconfig, etc
