After almost a year has passed since the last post, is the Samsung997MB still holding up as one of the best CRT monitors under 200 dollars????

Also, what is the difference between the 997DynaFlat and the 997MagicBright?

I am now looking for a monitor for gaming, and the CPL uses the Samsung 997MB, so I assume it must be decent right?

Thank you.
Quick and dirty answer to your question shattered (Welcome to the forums BTW...) is that the 997DF is being discontinued in favor of the 997mb - they look to use identical (well, almost, and I'd have to see the CRT number to be sure...) picture tubes, and the monitors have the same specs. The 997MB adds Samsung's MagicBright, and Magitune features - presets and subtle enhancement settings you can choose depending upon what you're using the monitor for at the moment - gaming, watching movies, editing photos - all look their best at different brightness and contrast settings so Samsung gives you different presets to choose from.

According to Samsung, slight enhancements were made to the electron gun in the Dynaflat CRT to allow for the Magicbright features - which for certain settings - require additional current flow through the electron gun. Other than that and the additional features (and color of the plastic exterior and such) they are the same. The 997MB looks to be great buy for the money...

Also, the opportunity to see the posts from last year and compare/remind ourselves has been useful - but gonna close this one here...
