I was thinking about getting a 17" LCD, I want it for gaming, dvd and internet. So I thought screw LCD I'm going to get 22 inch from NEC instead because CRT are way better on gaming then LCD. They're like 400 bux cheaper, OH MY GOD.
NEC - Mitsubishi MultiSync FP2141SB-BK (SuperBright Diamondtron CRT, 22in, Black) for . $899 Viewsonic VX2000 (Metallic on Black) 20 inch LCD for $1299. Gotta be kiddy me. |

I'm just wondering if you do your word processing sruff, browsing, programming @1600*1200? It just that I feel the texts are a bit too small for me so I normally use 1280*960 for everyday uses. Btw, I have a 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB and I'm very happy with it. I'm just wondering if people who use 20" (or more) CRT use 1600*1200 for everyday uses? |

I'm considering buying hte new HDTV widescreen (but flat) for my PC... Costs a hell of a lot but at least I can decently watch some movies... And for games, it's got good times

problem i have encountered with numerous other monitors specially 22inchers with a res of over 1280x1024 is that the details tend to start to blur...... not to mention even with the higher frequency, it cuts the screen refresh headaches out, but causes more blurring of the screen in the end.... not good either However, i have had now 2 22inch monitors to try.... excluding this last one that i'm stuck on..... the other 2 did very well up to 1280x1024 with a hz rate of 100+.... 1600x1200, the dot pitch along with other settings turned it into not a very good text editing enviroment...... webpage viewing.... or specifically forum browsing.... i'd find myself just dropping it down to 1280x1024..... still gamed at 1600x1200... or higher.. This monitor has pleased me at 2048x1536 @ 85hz (although i HAVE to force this refreshrate onto the monitor as it techically doesn't officially support anything over 75hz... OCing a monitor not the greatest idea... but with patients and without pushing it.... it can be done) IMO, best 22inch monitor i've got... i've always tried others, but samsung has yet to cease to amazing.....
