whenever a chipset that supports AMD comes out that also supports those..

Via has in the works the KT890 chipset.. it was slated for release with plenty of motherboard manufactures providing by the start of novemeber... however, things changed...

Orginally the KT890 was saposed to be everything the KT 800 pro is but include fine tuned extras plus PCI-EX support...

But i think it got dropped and via has gone straight to making the KT890A or whatever it may end up being called...

Suspected to support the following.. ALL RUMORS ATM

2x PCI-EX 16x slots with Via's own method of SLI support with any video cards...
1x AGP 8X port (is suspected to be auto disabled as soon as a PCI-EX 16x video card is used)
up to 6 Orginal PCI 2.2 Compliant slots
up to 4 PCI-EX 1x slots
6 Sata2 300 connectors... 4 of which have Via's own Raid controller. Also saposedly supports SATA Optical Drives

completely 939 based with support beyond FX-55 and 64 bit 4000+'s
and to top it off, 6 Memory slots.... 4 of which will be Dual Channel DDR and the other 2 are saposed to support Dual Channel DDR2 support... (i haven't found out any information if you can only use ONE or the OTHER, most likely the case that you can only use one at a single time)

2 IDE ATA 133 IDE channels, 1 floppy, a full 8 channel audio solution onboard.....

that's all i have found out from anyone or by scouring the net though...

just remember, ALL rumored..

expected announcement by the end of january or start of febuary with various motherboards available between end of march and start of may...

Thanks for the info. Judas.I have always been an Intel man but I guess I am gonna have to go AMD.Those FX processor's sure seem to rule the roost.I have an Intel rig now that has 3 gig's of Corsair DDR2 and PCI Express 6800ULTRA that I still wanna use so you see why I am asking the question.Again, thanks!

well... personally i think the FX line of AMD cpus are uselessly overpriced..... but if you've got the money to speed nearly twice the ammount for just an exctra 512kb of on die cache and a moveable multiplyer.... IMO though...

as for the dual CPU's... i understood that AMD has already starting to make engineering samples... early early..... but i doubt we'll see anything at all till then end of next spring.... if not till next fall
