Hey guys, i need your help with my TV Tuner card. Its black and white. (pics inside)
Hey guys, i need your help with my TV Tuner card.
I have a winfast tv 2000 xp Expert Edition. Its been working great but a little while ago i noticed the picture was balck and white. What used to have was when i opened up Winfast PVR (what u use to watch TV) it use to go black and white then after about 10secs it would turn into colour. Now whenever i open winfast PVR the picture is black and white and doesn't change to colour no matter how long you leave it. I havnt changed anything. Today i got the latest drivers for it of Leadtek's website but it didn't fix it. Does anyone know why its black and white? The picture quality if fine and the sound is perfect, aslo all the channels are working but its just in black and white and i dont know why. Here is a picture of what it looks like, as u can see its in black and white: http://img137.exs.cx/img137/1374/tv_tuner.jpg Maybey it has to do with ATi Drivers but i dont think so beacuse it doesnt run from the graphics card. Im using Catalyst 4.8 with a Gigabyte 64mb Radeon 9200 just to let you know. Any help would be great. Thankyou. |

make sure you are using the right regional settings. For example if it is set to NTSC in a PAL area, you will see in b&w

well its still black and white but i think it may be that my capture card has stuffed up. I don't know why this may have happened but dj_stick do u know where the settings for NTSC and PAL are for the Winfast TV2000 XP Expert? I cant find it. But i also must let you know even when watching a VCR through the capture card its black and white.

Eh up I've got one of them, let me have a look....
Click on the tools button on the console (spanner), second button from left at top of next page (hover and it says video setting and it's just under the video preview window (but mine is greyed out). I'll have a more detailed look later and see what I can find. |

Yeah i found the options and mine are also greyed out. I upgraded to the latest drivers last night and got the newest version of Winfast PVR off Leadtek's website but its still black and white!
Do u guys think the card is stuffed up? Also i do have the settings set to Australia so i know that cant be the problem. The quailty is perfect but it's in black and white. Also does anyone know the difference between: Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP RM and Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert Seeing as though i will probably have to get a new card, why is there a AU$30 price difference between the RM and the Expert? (Expert is what i have). Thanks. |

Does a television hooked to the same cable/antenna you have presently attached to your card show a decent color picture? If yes, I would say the card is having a problem within its video process or A/D circuitry.

Yes the TV has a very high quality picture because it was only a few days ago we got a Digital Set-top box for it and now the TV's picture is very good. However the black an white poblem has been around for weeks now and is still here. One thing i must say is that before we got the Digital Set-top box our TVs picture wasn't the best when the computer was on however when the computer was turned off the TV's picture was much better. The TV's picture wasn't so bad when the computer was on however when the computer was turned off the TV's picture quailty did increase quite a bit.
