Power Supplies..
Alllrighty.. I recently (over the weekend) got some new parts in my computer.. a 74Gig Raptor, 1GB DDR 400.. some new external accessories and A Zalman CNPS7000... and well.. I found out that my MGE Vigor cant quite keep up with all of it during a high load program (ie. Far Cry) and everytime I am in such program for an extended amount of time.. either one of two (or both) things happen - VPU Recover, or Reboot. Now Im quite convinced that it is my power supply, as I can begin to hear my drives spinning down before the the VPU Recover takes place. Now, after that long read, my real question is.... What is a good power supply?... I have about.. 150$ to spend on it.. and would prefer to have one that can keep STEADY voltage rails (something I have never experienced). Any Help Will Be Appreciated.

PC Power & Cooling TurboCool's are the best PSU you could buy, its around that price range also.
Sparkle, Fortron, OCZ also make damn good PSU's.

fortron make great PSU's for a great price. Most of them come with 120mm fan also, so they are pretty quiet. and yes, i would buy that PSU.

pc power and cooling is the industry's best.
Ultra X is awesome also btw. Very very stable voltages and modular power lines. Uhh what else...oh yeah I wouldnt recommend Sparkle. They are extremely light and if you just drop them like 2 inches stuff snaps off on the inside. I've had bad bad bad luck with those.

Well, I ordered myself the Fortron 500Watt Blue Storm mentioned above.. it seems to have dual 12v rails which will be oh so nice
. Now I just have to wait for it to come in.

well, i was going to mention an Enermax Noisetaker 600Watt PSU, since it (the Noisetaker series) has dual 12v rails, but seeing that you already ordered your PSU, i guess it's too late now.

I had a 400 watt Fortron for awhile, it was a pretty good supply. Far as I know it's still running strong.

I've had a couple of their PSU's and I've always been able to have them for years without issues. Matter of fact I had my Athlon XP2500+ system that I had o/c'ed up to 3200+ with the dual optical drives, 2 Western Digital HDs, and all my LED's and everything running just fine off of it. The only reason I traded it out of there was I got a good deal on a ThermalTake Butterfly PSU and I wanted it for the AXP system so the PC Power & Cooling unit has since pulled duty in my little Celeron 1.7 system that I use as just a secondary system for when the AXP is tied up doing something
