Winamp 3 problems

Ok I've had no problems with Winamp 3 till last night. I got home form work booted up my comp and went to put on some tunes. First the WA3 splash screen comes up, which never happens with me, then the taskbar says "Assertion Failed" instead of Winamp 3 and just sits there. I wait, then I right click, close the app (note the little menu that pops up when you right click on any part of WA3 did NOT pop up.) I try again to see if perhaps it was simply a fluke. No luck, but instead of "Assertion Failed" it says "Oops" on the tray. WTF?!?!?! TI worked fine earlier that day, and all night the previous evening. So I tried re0installing over the existing install, no luck, same results. I tried a couple of things from the winamp forums, all to no avail.
I really didn't want to un-install and all that, I happen to have about 150+ playlists all stored in WA3, so I tried everything I could before I gave up and re-installed. Now I have to redo all the playlists, but I'm not even sure I want to cause this seemed to happen for NO reason whatsoever. If anyone knows anything about this please help me, I'm not going to put a lot of playlists in again if I'm going to loose them in another two months. All I can say is that this is really making me doubt this software, I was always singing WA3's praises, then it went and screwed me while I wasn't looking. ARGGG!!!#($*@&)(*&

why didnt u save the Playlists?

Next time dont uninstall winamp

just install over the top

that should keep your playlists alive

at least it does for me

winamp 2.81, has all the old features that we all like.....being able to use the keyboard shortcut keys to go to next track and all
