Bo-Zack is on a distinguished road

boot-up problems, no post

before I get started, here are my system specs:

ASUS p4b533 Mobo (BIOS 1015)
Intel Pentium 4b 2.4GHZ
512MB DDR PC2100 Seimens RAM
450W PSU
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB Video w/ Catalyst 4.12
Western Digital 200GB Hard Drive - Primary Master
Western Digital 40GB Hard Drive - Primary Slave
MSI 16x DVD-ROM - Secondary Master
LG GSA 4058 (I think thats the model) 8x DVD +- RW
Soundblaster Live! Value Sound Card
10/100 Ethernet
Dazzle IEEE Firewire PCI
Windows XP Pro (XP2)
----

here's my problem :

I purchased another stick of 512MB PC2100 RAM. The ram specs are: Goldi Memory 512 DDR 266. I installed the new stick, and the motherboard gave me the memory beep (didn't boot) long beep in a continous loop. I then took out the new ram. (note my original ram (seimens pc2100) was in the DIMM1 slot, and the new ram in the DIMM2 slot). I then tried switching the two. placed the new ram in DIMM1 and my original in DIMM2. Same problem. I then removed the new Goldi Memory Stick, and placed my original Seimens ram in the DIMM1 slot. The system booted up normally, functioned for about a few hours, then froze. I restarted the system (via the reset button) and the memory beep (long in continous loop) started with my own ram. the system now won't boot up at all. I tried Reseating the ram like 10 times, and each time the same problem. Please help. Thanks again in advance for your help.

Um did you test the ram for DOA? I did when I get my new stick of ram I had np with it what so ever on ram. You might want take ram back get your money back on it. Just make sure you installed ram right way where the notch is. If you put back words you fry your mother board.
