i was thinking of doing the same thing, although i can't loop 3dmark 03 or 05 because i don't have a legit cdkey for either. btw, when i played ut on my old rig it never crashed like that before. also those random reboots happened once while playing ut and 2 or 3 times doing random stuff like copying or dl'ing files or just idling.

Id'ing huh....

Could you post the rest of your specs?

MSI Neo2 Platinum BIOS ver 1.4
A64 3500+ 90nm
1GB Crucial Ballistix
2x 160GB Segate SATA hd's
HIS 9800 Pro
SB Audigy2 ZS

Also which location your Audigy is in?

I also would give this app. a whirl. http://7byte.com/index.php?page=hotcpu

Also check in your device manager to see if there is any IRQ sharing going on.

Specs continued:
Ultra X-Connect 500w PSU w/ UV
LiteOn DVD-ROM
Nec ND3520A DVD-RW

My Audigy2 is located in the second to last PCI slot.

Edit: Device Manager seems fine, although i have Nvidia nForce Networking Controller and the Realtek Gigabit Ethernet NIC disabled. i disabled them through windows...

BTW, make sure you also go in your bios and disable anything your're not using. Like other the other SATA controller, serial ports, and parallel port to free up IRQ's.

You also might want to look at this FAQ. for this board at the "XtremeSystems" forums. It's a lot to read through, and I should remember most of it since I read the living crap out of it.

Your CPU's native voltage is 1.4V (if the 3500 isn't higher then the 3200). You also might want to set it higher. If I remember correctly setting it at 1.4 should do it with 3.3% over should do the trick. Sorry I can't remember the exact terms used in the bios for both of these voltage settings.

P.S. I take it your not using this computer to get on-line either?

I just pulled this from the FAQ.

"issues with ram slots 3&4 not working very well seems to work fine for some people"

You might as well move 'em then.

I'm running my Audigy in the third PCI slot from the bottom, and I'm SATA ports 3/4.

wouldn't i be overclocking the cpu by raising it's voltage? btw, ur link doesn't work.

i was thinking of moving them when i get a chance. I am also on SATA ports 3/4.

I also saw this:

older bios revisions need the agp speed set to 67mhz to lock it
i set mine to 67mhz as i was oc'ing my vid card a lil. it was at 66mhz before. should i have left it at 66mhz? what do u have agp speed set at? do u oc ur vid card? btw, should i still try that program u linked earlier?

If you have both of your network controllers disabled how are you getting on-line? You wouldn't be OC'ing your CPU if you raise the voltage to it's spec. voltage; your motherboard loves to undervolt the winchester core. I have my AGP @ 67 as well. Currently I'm not OC'ing my Ultra. There isn't really a need for me to.

I'm currently baffled especially since you ran that program for 6hrs with no reboots. Hopefully it won't happen again.

USB 1.1 would be nasty..... (although work well with normal internet)

USB 2.0 or Firewire is DAMN fast.... (480 or 400 mb/s )

Well i'm not sure if i did it correctly. there were two options pertaining to the CPU voltage. One is Adjust CPU VID and i have that set to 1.400v; the other is CPU Voltage and that is set to By CPU VID. so did it do it correctly?
