Question about dual channel ram?

Hi, wondering if I need a dual channel ram set (those who are marked with that), to use dual channel ram. Or can I use standard twinmos? I was thinking about this set: 2x TwinMOS PC4300 TwiSTER DDR 512MB CL3 Chip.

Just seen that some suplyers list some sets as dual ram. And this made me think Ive been getting the wrong type of ram. Yes, I donu much about computers!

Thx for reply

System Specs

More details about your system would be good . It may not even support dual channel. But for a quick answer, you don't have to have specifically designated dual channel ram, but for most compatibility you should use the same brand, type and size of modules.

yeah, i'd agree in principal, dual channel packs will guarentee compatibility, but i (and loads of others) use different RAM makes / sizes and it works fine as long as you have the same amount of ram in each channel (i have 512 in one and 2x256 in the other). if youre using AMD then socket A then i'd say go for anything, with socket 939 i think some motherboards prefer the same make, i dont know much about intel im afraid
