CPU Problem?

One of my students came to me and said that he took his CPU out and upon putting it back in the pc it will not boot. The PC will not enter POST and the processor 'light' remains on. Any idea what the problem may be? I suggested that he may have reinserted the CPU incorrectly...you guys have any ideas?

Thanks

Hmmm....well I doubt it's that since the processor will only go in a certain way. It could be ESD damage, heatsink not fitted properly, cpu fan isn't plug in, cpu isn't sitting level in the socket, and a broken/bent pin.

I would advise your student to triple check the instal.
