2400XP my experiences so far

I got a 2400XP today, and sold my 2100XP to a friend in work and without much work ive got it to around 2.2ghz, not much I know compared to some but my cooling in this rig isnt the meanest so im quite happy (especially considering my rig is very quiet).

my scores have increased in PCmark from around 5,200 with the 2100XP to around 6,500 and 3dmark 2001SE has increased from around 13.2k to 14.5k.

All in all in a very nice little upgrade and a very well priced CPU.

when i get some more detailed benchies and results ill let you all know.

just a Lian Li aluminium case with stock cooling and a akasa silver mountain 2, part of the joy of this rig is how quiet it is. if I had a hardcore fan/heatsink like a swiftech/delta im sure I could hit 2.35 gig stable, but I want it as quiet as possible !

they are easy to unlock just a trace along the L1 bridges as far as ive read, not like the 2100XP (my last CPU), but to be honest I havent unlocked mine. I maybe will look into it after christmas, but right now its working fine overclocking via FSB at 1.75 core (under 40c full load), and my mobo has the option to add +33/+66 to the memory clock speed without affecting other components.

My fan and heatsink in this rig isnt as hardcore as my delta and swiftech in the other rig, but the noise ...... urghhhh. im sure it would hit over 2300mhz if I used harder cooling but im liking the asaka silver mountain II im using, its quiet :.

The 2600XP here is a good £100 more, and im not sure its as good a value option as the 2400XP..... although im sure the 2600XP would hit 2500mhz if you got a good one.

I have read that some 2400xp come unlocked from the factory you are going to have to look at the L1 to see
