Hmmm, you might want to go with a nice Intel setup since u don't game. Intels are better for multitasking than AMDs, or so I've heard. I can't really recommend anything since I'm not an Intel Fan, but I'm sure the others will be happy to help. Good luck

I recommend picking AMD 64 3000+ (or faster, depending on your budget) + MoBo with AGP slot. You will be able to find NF3-based Socket 939 board that has AGP. However, I'm not sure about NF4-based AGP motherboards; AFAIK, there are no any. There are even some VIA K8T800 Pro motherboards that support AGP and 939.
Sorry, but I can't recommend a specific model or brand, since I haven't had experience with any of them.

the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum is a pretty nice, though it does have a few problems that need to be worked out. Been using it for a few mths now and it seems pretty stable, although i haven't pushed it yet.
Here's a review of some of the 939 boards out: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2128 Hope it helps

i would second the call for the A64 3000+, with a solid nForce 3 AGP mobo
but I am an AMD fan, I do hear that Intels are better for media work and can preserve your browsing experience while converting files etc. as long as hyou get a hyper-threading enables CPU sorry, cant really give advice on intels nana |
