I just picked up a new maxtor hd. It is a very slim single platter 30G ATA 133. I have not run into these particular drives and was wondering who has and how they perform>>>>>

i have the ata133 DM8...it's a solid drive for me. achieves 100+ mb/s raw bandwidth on the primary via ide controller of my a7v333.

The DM8+ is a very good drive according to reports on storagereview.com forum.
Quiet and with a high STR.

If it is anything like the slim Maxtor 15GB drive I own, it's a good deal. I never tested it to its full potential since the interface it is plugged on doesn't take advantage of its maximum transfer rate (ATA-66 ), but I've never seen a more silent drive than this one.
