quick PSU question

i am about to buy a new PSu because my current one cannot handle my system so i only have some things plugged in at the moment.

The one i have settled on is this
http://www.ultraproducts.com/produc...products_id=161

i was just wondering if this will limit any potential upgrades in the future such as PCi express graphics card or AMD64 i.e do these have any special power connectors on them and if iso will this power supply be suitable. thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

cheers.

It does not look like this power supply supports BTX for the btx ff upgrade for later on. Correct me if i'm wrong. For the graphics cards I think those 4 pins should be fine.

hadn't even heard of the BTX form until now but i would doubt i'd be dabbling in that for a good few years. that is unless i get a better paying job!!

any reasons not to get a ultra-x PSu. all the reviews ive read have been good and it gets a good review in the driverheaven review. i'd be open to any suggestions

Uhmmm, recently Ultra has been having a lot of problems with the X-Connect PSU, especially that model. I had one and it died 2 mths later. It was causing random reboots and crashes. I got the OCZ Powerstream 520w and it's running as smooth as silk

Check out their support forums: http://www.ultraproducts.com/forum/v...3b3afcfd43ac83

how about this one or is the 600W one overkill? i can get the 600W one for about £88 and the 485W one for around £70.

the ocz are a little too expensive for my liking.

Those are really good PSU's as well. Just installed one in a computer I'm building. Just remember more power is always better!!
