what is DVD-RAM

now... am i right in thinking that DVD-RAM is just a DVD-RW? or is it something else. I found one fore $178 and i wanna get it but i want to make sure that it is basically the same thing. Like could i put in regular DVD-RW's?

MrUrt is on a distinguished road

I'm also curious about the different types of DVDs. what's the diffence between DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM¿ (other than the obvious difference between R and RW)

btw, I heard somewhere that DVD+R and DVD+RW are the best, not sure how accurate that is tho...

well i found out that they are just different standards, as the industry has yet to decide on one. They may choose DVD+R and DVD+RW or DVDRAM or DVD-R and DVD-RW. We just don't know. but as it seems, DVD-RAM is the best.

also, you can't switch CD's, so you can't put a DVD+RW disc into a DVD-ram drive
