Help PSU question!!!

Okay, my damn 3D card died for the 3rd time and I'm wondering if it's my PSU.

I have a trublue antec 480 watt PSU.

Here is my system and please tell me!!! I need help!!

HIS x800 xt agp
asus p4c800-e deluxe
4x512 ddr400 ram
3 ghz northwood
2 hds WD 200 giga
1 dvd rom and 1 dvd writer
5 fans
5 leds lazer thingys

I'm gonna get a new larger case tomorrow (the thermaltake armor) and well, is 480 watts enough for all this? and if i cut some stuff out, is removing the 2nd HD and the fans and lasers enough?!

Okay last bump and I go to sleep...

So as I stated it, the problem is as said above.

Now the choice I got is, either I don't change anything which I really don't wanna try!

Or I buy a Thermaltake Armor and remove 1 HD and all the other fancy stuff.

Or I buy a CoolerMaster Stacker with a modular HIPER 580 PSU.

???

I would just buy a new PSU, unless your temps aren't that great, then buy a new case as well i guess. What case are you using now?

Yea, I say just get only a PSU. For very pretty much the same quality at 40% of the cost, i recomend the OCZ PowerStream PSU. What are the amps on the 12v rail(s) of your Antec PSU? If it's 22A or lower, then i would recommend getting a better PSU. The OCZ I recomended to you does 33A on the 12v rail.

But just to know, what kind of problems was your video card giving you when you determined it had died, and it was caused by the PSU?

http://www.antec.com/specs/true480_spe_EU.html

Those are the specs on my PSU. I got a thermaltake tusnami which is tiny for my card (I touch the HDs) and the cooling is bleh.

Now if I decide only to buy a new case and remove a HD and some other fancy sutff, I'd buy the thermaltake Armor in black.

If I get a new PSU, it'd be this i think.

With that I might get a Stacker... Dunnon yet. I'd love to get a OCZ but I can't from my only shop. Here is the site with the PSUs. Tell me what you guys think is good for my specs.

Oh and I'm sure my 3D card is dead. My brothers PC just beeps with it. I can run his card fine so my mobo is healthy... for the moment. And with my luck, I just know the 3D card is the victim. Why I think it's the PSU. Because well with ASUS Probe, my voltages were the following.

11.7

4.8

3.1

Low but I dunno if it's accurate. I'm gonna try and get a multimeter today to see. And the whole system just hung there, and suddenly, after a few minutes it just powered off and then rebooted... But no image came.

I'd go with Hiper, a good portion of Thermaltake ones aren't of high quality.

well, the modular PSUs are great looking and help out alot w/wiring, but they create resistance where the cables plug in making the power flow decrease a little bit. Of the PSUs on the site you provided, i would go with the Antec TruePower series, but you already have an Antec PSU and i bet you are pretty reluctant to go ahead with another Antec PSU.

My next choice would be the Enermax 600w PSU. The problem with that one though is that it may not be compatible w/your MoBo. The reason I say that is because we sell those at my work and I know what they look like. The PSU 4 pin connector that goes to the MoBo is actually an 8 pin connector and because of that you have to see which of the 4 pins line up correctly and plug into the MoBo. However, the problem with that is that if your MoBo has a capacitor or resistor right next to the 4 pin plug on the MoBo, then you are kinda S.O.L. because the 8 pin plug will not go in all the way.

When I go to build my duel core rig that is the case I will buy!The Silverstone Temjin Nemiz I have my SLi rig in has been rated no.1 by Max.PC for well over a year now but it was bumped by the case you are getting/have 2 months ago. They say it's the very best case out there now.As for a power supply,P C Power & Cooling.Read the reviews. The proofs in the pudden'.
