??? Unknown Driver Problem

I just installed Windows XP professional on an IBM IntelliStation workstation. In device manager, there is an "unknown device" listed and I have no idea what it is, and can therefore not find the proper drivers to install for it. I also do not have access to the driver disc.
It's under "other devices" with one of the ?! flags.

I assume it's got something to do with ACPI because it says it's "on Microsoft ACPI Compliant System."

Under properties -> Details tab

Device Instance ID:
ACPI\ASF0001\2&DABA3FF&0
Hardware Ids:
ACPI\ASF0001
*ASF0001
Enumerator:
ACPI
Capabilities:
CM_DEVCAP_SILENTINSTALL
Devnode Flags:
DN_HAS_PROBLEM
DN_DISABLEABLE
DN_NT_ENUMERATOR
DN_NT_DRIVER
ConfigFlags:
CONFIGFLAG_FAILEDINSTALL
Current Power State:
D3
Power Capabilities:
PDCAP_D0_SUPPORTED
PDCAP_D3_SUPPORTED
Power State Mappings:
S0 -> D0
S1 -> D3
S2 -> Unspecified
S3 -> D3
S4 -> D3
S5 -> D3

That's all the info under the properties window details tab. Everything else under it is blank.
If anyone can help me identify the needed driver, that would be a lot of help.

i had this problem on a IBM xSeries 225 server running win2k3. It turned out to be a device known as "IBM Alert Standard Format". I got the driver from:http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview...psg1MIGR-43364

dirtyape - you hit the nail on the head with your response, I had the exact same unknown device in device manager, and after following your link to big blue installed the driver, and fixed!!! Thanks heaps!

Its in Device manager as 'ASF Table' under 'System Devices'

I was building an IntelliStation Z Pro 6221-59A

I would like to thank IBM's website for being useless for not listing this driver when you went into their drivers and downloads section for this model. There was another unknown device also there with similar details, which they had provided a driver for in the correct section!!!

The stupid thing about the link dirtyape referenced was once it opened the page advised that it was suitable for use with my system... Why couldn't IBM have included the driver in the section for my PC to avoid this for its users i guess i will never know...

Thanks again dirtyape!
