Lots of problems, no idea whats wrong!
I am way over my head here.
I recently bought an Abit AI7 motherboard to replace the stock mb that came with my Compaq. I installed a Pentium 4 3.2 ghz processor, 1 gig of 3200 ram, a 6800 gt, and a thermaltake xp 90 heat sink. After reformatting and installing windows and updating everything, my computer is now going apeshit. In battlefield 2, i can play for about 5 minutes before these colored blips start filling the screen and the game runs extremely slow. I bought a new 6800 gt from best buy, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and still same problem. I checked my temps with MBM5 and they were normal... 56 C for graphics card and 48 C for CPU. Nothing is overclocked... The only thing I didn't do when installing the MB is reset the CMOS by switching the breakers. I have no idea what is wrong...or what could cause the performance problems. Also, windows takes a loooong time to shut down. And in addition, before I started bf2, i went to overclock my 6800 using coolbits. after hitting "optimal settings", it ran the tests and instead of giving me a very high oc in the range of 440/1.10 ghz (before the MB change), it gave a very low overclock: only 9 mhz faster than stock. So i just stuck with stock speeds....still same problems. I can answer any questions about my computer you need to know... ANY help is appreciated...I am completely frustrated and lost. My only thoughts are that something has happened to the CPU...since its the only thing that isnt brand new!

Did you format your drive after MB change ... if you only fixed it then there s a lot a chance that s the problem .. format and reinstall everything form the scratch. WindowsXP doesnt keep well with MB change .
